Ishmael Carroll
Candidate for First Vice Chair
Hello Clark Dems,
Community Service. The word community service is why I am writing this statement. Every day, I aim to be a community builder because one of the most extraordinary acts in life is to serve others. So, my fundamental purpose is to serve the Clark County Democratic Party members, caucuses, key communities, and voters. Nevada is a battleground state, and the Clark County Democratic Party is a key component for us to win local and statewide elections.
As First Vice Chair, I will be dedicated and committed to working alongside the incredible hearts and minds of those who serve on the Clark County Democratic Party Central Committee's Executive Board. I would be honored to work with the executive board, advisors, community leaders, and local elected officials to continue the fight for a better tomorrow.
As a proud native of Las Vegas, my mission is to be a community builder and always celebrate the rich diversity of the Silver State.Throughout my early years, Commissioner Lawrence Weekly, Assemblyman Tyrone Thompson, Congressman Steven Horsford, Assemblyman Munford, and countless others showcased that real change occurs with grassroots efforts.
These early observations and examples of servant leadership and community organizing led me to one of my greatest honors. Working as a regional political director for the Harris-Walz coordinated campaign, I had the honor of giving back to my community, which poured into my life. Each day, I was fortunate to create community events, run targeted voter outreach campaigns, and galvanize our community to fight for democracy.
Honestly, I never thought a young man from a humble beginning like myself would ever have an opportunity to be politically involved. Congressman Horsford gave a kid from the Historic Westside the chance of a lifetime to learn from his brilliant political mind. I am forever grateful to him for giving me a chance, believing in my dream, and showing me how to make a positive impact in my hometown. I am also thankful for mentors and friends who have shown me how to make a difference.
In closing, the next wave of young leaders needs to understand that they have the power to create real change by voting, organizing, and being politically active.
I humbly ask for your support as we embark on this new chapter.
Thank you,
Ishmael Carroll
